Training Tutor

Mr. Martin Norbury

Mr. Martin joined LMI-UK in August 2010 after 20 years in the UK and European accident repair/motor claims industry operating at various senior management levels.
Martin originally set-up a software business in April 1991, and then joined a small software company, following its merger with his own IT sales organisation.
In 1997, following the acquisition of the software business by Glass’s Guide, Martin went on to hold a number of senior positions at Glass including; Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Strategy.
Martin was headhunted into Innovation Group plc in 2004, where he was appointed Managing Director of the Motorcare Services business which he successfully ran for 6 years. He has extensive business experience and has been at the helm of a multitude of businesses from start-up to turnaround, from realignment to sustaining success.
More recently, Martin now works with businesses and their management board to ensure they are running to their full potential; and that the owner’s interests are protected. He genuinely and passionately believes in business improvement through people and the wealth of potential that the LMI programs ‘unlock’ in people.
“The only thing worse than training your people and have them leave is not training them and have them stay”.
Martin lives in Surrey with his lovely wife Jacki, his wonderful twins – James and Lily and is a keen golfer and a fanatical lifetime Liverpool FC fan.

Mr. Chris Waters

Chris joined LMI-UK in April 2011 as a logical progression of his Business Angel investment ventures. After graduating with a Physics degree from Loughborough University, Chris went into Financial Services as an investments & pensions adviser. He built up a successful client base as well as acting as compliance officer for one of the largest independent financial services companies in the UK. After 7 years Chris changed career and went into the software business originally as a Business Analyst for a company developing software for Financial Services.
Chris was then part of a Management Buy Out (MBO) team that self funded the buyout of the company from a struggling parent company. Post MBO Chris was part of the team that built the company to multi-million profit and the market leader in it’s niche market wining several prestigious awards along the way.
In 2010 Chris left the software business and sold his shares as the demands of the work he was doing was not giving him any time with his young family and was not allowing him to achieve his goals in life. At this point Chris set up as a Business Angel, investing into start up and small companies providing both capital and business experience and guidance for businesses at a point that they need it most.
From one of his investments, Chris was introduced to LMI which was a great fit with his investments as it gave another tool to use with those companies that he invested in as well as others that he met. Chris now works with businesses and their management boards to provide support and guidance to ensure they are running to their full potential; and that the owner’s interests are protected.
Chris lives in Hampshire with his wife Chloe, and his children Sophie and Lauren. In his spare time Chris competes in triathlons and is currently training for an Ironman event in July 2014
